The Grasmere Players annual Youth Theatre Course will, again, take place in the October half term,
running from Monday 26th to Friday 30th October, ending on the Friday evening , in a theatrical
performance of a play which the course members will have written during the week. The students will
design and make the set, costumes, posters and programme as well as rehearsing and performing the play
and running Front of House.

The course will be run by members of the Grasmere Players, and professional Drama and Art teachers led
by Hugh Wright and will be open to students from the age of 10 and upwards, from the Grasmere and
Ambleside area and to any junior member of the Grasmere Players. Younger students with an exceptional
interest in the theatre may be admitted. Students from outside the area may also apply by should
understand that first choice will go to members of the Players and to locals.
There is a small financial cost to participants to attend, this will be detailed on the application
form. The majority of the funding comes from the Grasmere Players, The Parish Council, SLDC and The
Kelsick Trust.
